Reason 20: Spectacular Place, The “First House” of “The Alley”
Located at the foot of ChangHua Bagua Mountain, by the side of Dadu River, NCUE has a pretty outstanding geographical location. There are many beautiful views around NCUE. For instance, right inside of the campus, we have Baisha Lake. Moreover, behind the campus is exactly ChangHua Bagua Mountain. The campus is also called “Baisha Mountain Villa”. This gorgeous and historical name can be traced back to 1745, the ming dynasty. In that time, here is “Baisha academy”, which is a academy of classical learning providing private education in the neighborhood. Due to this history, the bookish charm has kept our students stay under the positive influence for already 260 years, and it would last continuously. We are at the city junction of Taichung City and Changhua County, close to Taichung City, metropolitan area of Changhua City. The busiest transportation hub of medium Taiwan (river basin of Dadu River) is also close here, including Taiwan High Speed Rail (Taichung Station), the intersection of mountain line railway and coast line railway (Changhua Station), National Highway No. 1 (as known as Sun Yat-sen Freeway), National Highway No. 3, Provincial Highway No. 74 (Chung Chang expressway), Provincial Highway No. 1, Provincial Highway No. 14 and other intersection of main artery. You can easily go to TAICHUNG International Airport and Taichung Port if you set off from NCUE. Thanks to the advantages brought by these transportation ways, we’ve got a convenient transportation. In addition to the above modern public facilities, we have traditional and quaint places around us. An antique and picturesque township, Lukang, are a near and nation-famous tourist attraction to go. The ChangHua Bagua Mountain behind our campus are a patron saint for NCUE, giving off his benevolence to protect and bless the students in NCUE. The entire atmosphere NCUE giving to the students is similar with a paragraph of the poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud written by William Wordsworth,
“Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:”.
This location has the advantages in both naturally outdoor recreation and convenience as well as modern life in city. NCUE can be compared to a rare quiet alley separated from noisy cities, or a “Xanadu” separated from this rush life. In that case, the location is truly a wonderful place to study and live a simple but content life in. Our department building is located by the sides of the school gate. That is to say, we are exactly the “first house” of “the alley”. Spectacular Place, The “First House” of “The Alley”GC, NCUE, your best choice.
